ughhhhhhnn..
Ok, exciting and sorta scary news! we had to evacuate class yesterday due to the fires near my college, I could even see the flames as I was driving up there, pretty kooky.

My class at 1:30 today is canceled too :C, bummer..I'm actually really disappointed. What can I say, I love my classes and I feel like I'm missing out.
At least my sculpture class is still on, its at my old high school which is only about 2 blocks away. So no worry, fires aren't nearly close enough to reach here, and hopefully things will be more under control over there by this evening.

Ok, enough journaly/blog type information.

Now on to primarily figure studies...

oh god the majority of those last ones suck really bad..moving to pastels' a bitch. And my two favorite ones in the blue/pink are still at class :/

man, a lot of fuck ups on the last one...was using compressed charcoal for the first time and woahh, is that stuff strong.
Also a few old gesture and figure drawings from last year mixed in there too.

haven't posted in awhile and I'm feeling preeetty lazy (actually I've been super busy lately) but here's a bit of very random crap - and I mean RANDOM. I just grabbed a couple of things off my dresser to scan.

I was messing around in photoshop elements (that is all I have, lol) ..damn its addictive. I can see why people are favorable to it sometimes. I need to get on the ball..and start doing some digital art.. I'm not very good at it and I just tinker around but it's fun. Traditional just seems..more homier to me.

Ok hi again, not art..but stuff I found! I go around collecting stuff for future use/projects and sculpture.

On the side of the road laying in a ditch by the orange groves. I have had many good finds there, there is also a BEAUTIFUL absolutely gorgeous old broken tv there too..I've gone back twice, people seem to dump a stuff there. I wish I could get that tv but not only is it dangerous to handle but very heavy I'm sure.
I will definitely go back there though to take pictures though.

ll sorts of other good stuff..this was all found by the train tracks except that suspicious plastic squeaky baseball..no, that is kamerad's toy. Hah you can see him and my foot on the right.
I had all this laid out on the lawn as I was going to clean it, and possibly take pictures..but derp. No pictures, just as it is, in a basket. There were a lot of cool things by that railroad and a train even passed by, my car was parked on the other side and I about shit a brick. For a dumb reason I never thought a train would come by when I was there! haha I was with Kamerad too of coarse, we were actually in the car as it passed, it was just a good thing I was not crossing the tracks on foot or near them.

Not really stuff I found on my own persay..( I WISH )but things I bought from the H.O.T Second Hand Store Antiques & Collectables .
My family donated SO MANY PAINTINGS THERE, and I go there all the time. Awesome place to find clothes.
Anyway a light fixture and some other neat things, I'm thinking of incorporating these into some steampunk-esque sculptures.

And..just as a bonus, an old medicine cabinet that used to reside in my grandfather's office.
It now simply contains more junk that I collect.
Mostly lab equipment, bottles, a mexican free tailed bat, my old pet scorpion, a bust of Nefertiti that is actually from Egypt, and..another notable thing? that VERY old chipped away/tiny blue pot-like vessle on the 2nd shelf. Its from Bagdad I thiink..if I can remember correctly.

Anyways, enough pics for today! I am going to actually try and sleep for once

He is supposed to have dreads. I NEED TO STUDY HOW TO MAKE PROPER DREADS ON PEOPLE D:
but essentially..that is his facial features. He is not exactly pretty and he is a downright asshole.

I need to organize everything on my desk, and start working on my sculptures.

figure drawing class is going well, I asked my teacher if we could listen to music and eventually..it somehow got to the point where I was running out to my car and grabbing my cds and bringing them into class, she loved my music to say the least..
I put on a mix cd of love songs I thought everyone would mutually enjoy.
Artists like Morrissey, The Ramones, The Ronettes, Stiff Little Fingers, The Velvet Underground, T.Rex, Tripping Daisy, Yo La Tengo,.etc were on it. From what I remember..just a mix of all sortsa' good stuff.

Gesture drawings
at some point..you can tell especially that last one that the model was changing poses way to quickly, thankfully the teacher told her to slow down a bit.

10/15 minute poses?..these are pretty out of order at which there were done but its pretty obvious where I got tired at the end. Especially the 3rd on the top row and so on.

Blind contour drawings, we did a couple more of these, but drew over them. These are always fun!

and some octopus/squid type things I did between one of the breaks.

I could have worked on the figure drawings a bit more before I took pictures, but I want them AS IS, when I finished them, by the end of class.
I'm going to be posting a loot more of these through the weeks, and hopefully show some improvement.
I also have a ton more from my old class buut, I don't feel like posting a whole bunch of them cause that whole time period brings a a bitter feeling to me. I never got to finish that class and I had to withdraw due to having to move ASAP and my mom getting MS. So..:C
Maybe I will post some after I complete this whole round ..so I can have a little go back and look and see if I improved.

I love this class a lot more, not as crowded or as many students..a smaller room is okay too. And plus everyone including the teacher is SO laid back and nice. Except for some older douche bag guy that stole my drawing eisle today. I had purposefully put my clips ON the eisel so no one would take it, and he just takes them off and lays them on the desk and takes it. And I was standing right there! right after I just told another guy that was my spot. Jerk.
Hah, and also I remember Wendy from my last figure drawing class..she still has a bit of a tummy left cause she had a kid recently. In my other class she actually had her baby with her and we got to draw him. :B

I realized how truly bad it was..I even thought it was shitty to begin with, and the only reason I posted it there was because I wanted it torn apart. Maybe I'm a bit of a masochist, and I love critique way to much.
Roger loved it though, go figure. Said it even made him CHOKE UP, he loved it that much lol.
And I usually can always count on him to tell me if things look like shit. BUT NOPE.
That was one of the only reasons I was okay with it. knew the anatomy was crap and even though I tried to stylize it, didn't work, I'll redraw it I. All over..It was in a small sketchbook, maybe moving to a bigger paper will help.
In the mean time, until I'm able to sort things out, here's my failed attempts at a few sketches in photoshop elements a while back.

This is what happens when you stop drawing for a year... lol I donno needs more cowboy hats.

Welp I'm off to philosophy 101, and I have not slept since I woke up at 2AM last night, with 2 hours of sleep, wish me luck.

I had a dream involving a very nefarious crow, so here's a couple of the things I did yester/lastnight/today whatever. I haven't slept.
But the dream happened yesterday...a continuing dream of very strange things I'm still trying to get out of my head and on to paper.
It was a morbidly humorous dream..

And I realize lined paper is never a great thing to use water colored pencils on, but I do.
I like to experiment on it instead of wasting the more "valuable" paper.

Plus I'm not sure...

This is the same piece of paper, before and after..believe it or not.
There's a stupid story behind the first one, though I rather not get into it.

I had fun with it, still messing with it, kind of want to punch it in the face really..

Meh.

this is how I invisioned my hairless rat Tummler one night. My dog constantly comes in here and lays down and just BARKS his lil furry ass off at my him, and my rat just comes up the cage, looks him right in the eyes and stands there..I bet he would like to punch Kamerad in the nose though.
